With millions of people who are receiving unemployment benefits from the American government and countring, outsourcing is one issue that Barack Obama has been mentioning in his speeches. Right now there are more than 4 million unemployed and 2 million underemployed Americans. Fresh graduates of IT in America is competing with IT experts in India. American companies choose the latter because of the significant drop in labor cost.
Barack Obama views outsourcing as something that cannot be halted. In one of his speeches before he won the Presidency, he mentions that globalization cannot be reversed. As long as there’s internet connection, outsourcing will always be a key business component in American firms. But he also mentioned that he will make it harder for companies to outsource and he will give tax benefits to companies who do not outsource.
Barack’s take on outsourcing is realistic. He knows that he cannot stop it altogether. It has been one of the main reasons why American companies are still afloat despite tough economic times in United States. But with millions of people losing their jobs every month, Barack also wants American companies to hire Americans.
